The former, danish topplayer, Poul-Erik Høyer Larsen, who is in Seville as a commentator for danish TV2, today received the new IBJ special award for achievement. IBJ is the International Badminton Journalists. According to chairman of the IBJ, William Kings, they have for some time thought about giving a price to an active player for achievement over a period. They hope to make it an yearly event, but for the moment it will be given at very world championships. To "get the ball rolling" they have select Poul-Erik as the first receipient, even though he retired last year. The symbol of the award is a large photo made specially by badminton photographer Preben Søborg and contains portraits of the great players of today. Pictures
