Men's Double Finals

   Halim Haryanto/Tony Gunawan, INA
   - Kim Dong Moon/Ha Tae Kwon, KOR 15-0, 15-13
It is the first time they meet in and IBF sponsored turnament.

There where no contest in the first game. Halim and Tony completely outplayed the koreans, and they only won the serve 5 times during the game - loosing it again. The koreans got their first point only in the 2. game, trailing 2-0 at that time. Kim and Ha got back in the game, and for a time it looked as if they could turn it around. At 9-4 the indonesian got to serve and did not score - for the first time in the match. They were even at 10-10, but then Halim and Tony got the edge again, and won the championship on their 3 match point.

Men's Singles Final

   Hendrawan, INA
   - Peter Gade, DEN 15-6, 17-16
Peter lost to a spirited Hendrawan, who took - according to Peter - many chances and succeeded, opening a 7-0 lead in the first game. He played the net close, just as Peter had planned and as Peter succesfully played Chen Hong yesterday. Hendrawan himself attributed allso the fast shuttles they used to his fast play in the begining. Later in the game Peter got back but much too late. He came from 14-2 to 14-6, before Hendrawan finished it.

Hendrawan could not get the speed in the 2. game, he said, probably because his strength was weakened a bit during the 1. game. Peter opened a lead of 5-0, but was not able to stop Hendrawan from equalling and passing, until 10-5. Then came a long period, with changing serve a lot of times. to even again at 13-13. Peter got game point first, but did not follow through, and Hendrawan got to 16-14. Peter even 16-16, but Hendrawan won on his 2. match point, placing the shuttle well inside Peters back line.

Ladies Doubles Final

   Huang Sui/Gao Ling, CHN
   - Zhang Jiewen/Wei Yili, CHN 15-11, 17-15
A replay of the All England finale, Then Gao Ling and Huang Sui won. This time too!

Ladies Singles Final

   Gong Ruina, CHN
   - Zhou Mi, CHN 11-9, 11-4
They have met 9 times in a world ranking event since 1998. Zhou has won the last 5 times since Danish Open 1999. Not this time.

Sorry for the short remarks about the two last games, but a press conference with Hendrawan and Peter Gade took some time, and then we had to take care of the transportation home - stolen ticket and all. So we did not watch those games!
