MS 1/4 finalChen Hong, CHN - Pulella Gopichand, IND 15-10, 15-10A rematch of the All England final? Well - This time Chen Hong won. Gopi did start out strong, but Chen Hong played some fantastic plays, particular towards the end. A few times he was down on his knees and hands after tough returns, but was up and in control again, before Gopi could get his return over the net. No. 3. XD 1/2 finalDong Moon Kim/Kyung Min Ra, KOR - Michael Sogaard/Rikke Olsen, DEN 15-7, 15-9Michael and Rikke never got their game going, and made a lot of errors. Michael had trouble clearing the net, and Rikke was often caught, when smashed at directly. No. 1. LD 1/4 finalZhang Jiewen/Wei Yili, CHN - Deyanna Lomban/Indarti Issolina, INA 15-8, 15-8 No. 2. MD 1/4 finalChoon Eng Chew/Chong Ming Chan, MAS - Lars Paaske/Martin Lundgaard, DEN 15-13, 15-2Lars and Martin had full control of the game until 12-9. Then something happende, Martin said after the match, because they only scored 3 point in the rest of the match. Maybe it was some unprovoked errors, that made them nervous and think too much. Choon/Chong had also improved themselves very much in anticipation of this match, Martin felt. No. 3. LS 1/4 finalZhang Ning, CHN - Kanako Yonekura, JPN 9-11, 11-1, 11-0 No. 1. MS 1/4 finalPeter Gade, DEN - Agus Haryanto, HKG 15-4, 15-8Peter did not have much difficulty with Agus Haryanto. Peter felt, that Agus in this game was too nervous about comming this far, and then play "center court" on TV. But do not underestimate him, Peter said. Agus is a very good up and coming player. No. 3. MS 1/4 finalHendrewan, INA - Xia Xuanze, CHN 15-7, 15-5 No. 1. LS 1/4 finalGong Zhichao, CHN - Dai Jun, CHN 11-9, 11-2 No. 2. LD 1/4 finalJiang Xuelina/Chen Lin, CHN - Rikke Olsen/Helene Kirkegaard, DEN 7-15, 15-3, 15-7This game was - almost - ignored because of the game on court 3, even though they where more or less in sync. A close match - dominated by the danes in 1. game, by the chinese in 2. game, and the danes leading 4-0 and 6-3. But from then on Jiang/Chen won every deciding play until 15-7. A great comeback. No. 2. LD 1/4 finalKyung Min Ra/Kyung Won Lee, KOR - Yang Wei/Huang Nanyan, CHN 10-15, 17-15, 17-14This was also a long, even battle, but appart from at few chinese and maybe some koreans, everybody turned there attendence to court no. 3! No. 3. MD 1/4 finalDong Moon Kim/Tae Kwon Ha, KOR - Michael Sogaard/Jim Laugesen, DEN 15-7, 13-15, 15-13According to Jim Laugesen they where only two lucky plays from winning. This was the real finals, he thought. A rather numerous danish crowd made for real excitement. If only the game had been scheduled for court 2 so the rest of the world could have seen the game! - Jim was not the only one thinking that out loud.
