"A little more each day!"Tim Eriksen is an executive of Bolbro Badminton Afdeling, a local club in Odense. He was started 5 year ago, when his then 9-year old son started playing badminton. Today the son is persuing his badminton carreer in a major club, but Tim Eriksen stayed and now does everything - from sitting on the board, arranging tournaments, helping junior or senior players along. John Nyborg has been a coach for many a years in Frederikshavn Badminton Klub, a Club in the nothern part of Jutland. But he does things far outside the role of a coach. He is a vital support for the juniorplayers, travelling to every tournament some of them attend. He has already been awarded the title of honary member of Frederikhavn Badminton Klub - even though he i still a young man. Chief executive of DBF, Thomas Lund, presented the two recipients with the awards and a check for 5.000 DKK each on friday evening. Player of the YearAbout 1.000 badminton fans have voted, through internet og mail, together with elite players and coaches, Danmarks Badminton Forbund and the sponsor Realkredit Danmark, and the sports journalist. After at close vote against Peter Rasmussen, Camilla Martin was selected to receive the 10.000 DKK award.
For the first time she hinted at the carreer she would persue after RDO 2004 in Århus - her final tournament: She had been approached by one (or more) TV-production companies to do some TV-show - "not about sport." No further details where available. She did plan "to keep in close contact with badminton," but again no specifics about her role. The prize was presentet to Camilla Martin by sportsjournalist Frank With, Danmarks Radio, friday evening.
