Lena Frier and Carsten Mogensen (right) where up against Jesper Pedersen (not seen) and Pernille Akkermann in one of the first matches of the tournaments.

The unseeded opponents, now with Jesper on top on the shuttle, played very passionate, but was no match for the 3-4 seeds.

Quite a diffent story for this couple - Maria Røpke and Rasmus Mangor Andersen. The pair entered through the reserves-list, and they fought their chance well.

Mean while the mens singles started, with top seed Peter Gade Christensen to meet another Christensen, Michael Christensen. Michael showed no fear for the danish number one, and in the first game he tagged along very well undtil 10-10.

The court carpeting was not completely in place, an that gave Røpke and Mangor-Andersen cause to worried looks. But it was soon fixed.

Later - much later - Røpke/Mangor-Andersen are in the 3. game, on top, but not entirely in control. They eventually beat Dennis Smidth Jensen/Karina Sørensen in 3 games, 8-15, 15-2, 15-8 in the longest match of the draw so far.

The reigning champions in Mixed Double, Kamilla Rytter Juhl (left) and Thomas Laybourn had to figth in the first round, as Jens Eriksen/Mette Schjoldager had earned the top seed.

And fight they did - because Mads Kolding/Line Kruse was not laying down in respekt for the champions. The first game was very even until 12-12 - and also in the first half of the second game.

The other Christensen - now in the 2. game - and being run over by Peter Gade.

And finally Michael Christensen realised, that his dream did not come true this thursday.
