After the match

The match ended in a wrong call from the umpire, causing some confusing. He called fault on the serve, instead of the receiver. This call did defuse the joy of victory for Michael Søgaard, he said after the match."You dont make a victory round after that. " Jens Eriksen was not happy either. He had preferred using som faster shuttles - because Rikke / Michael could only play with "slow shuttles" he said jokingly. Rikke did prefer "normal shuttles" she said, ending that discussion.

Overall they agreed, that the form of the day decide matches when they met in competition. (They train together at DBA Elite Center in Copenhagen) Jens said that he did mind loosing the Danish Nationals - as long as they would win All England over Rikke and Michael.

Mette Schjoldager was asked about her balance-problem. It had been bad yesterday morning, but today she had no trouble. She is going to Rigshospitalet for observation and some medication, but no treatment has been found so far. But medication had kept the problem at bay.

Michael Søgaard is sponsored by Luminex, af lightfixture vendor, for this event. He had until december 31. been sponsorede by his employer, Ernest & Young Denmark, but this had expired, and he had also been made redundant. He was looking for a new sponsor - and any plans of retiring had been postponed. Rikke and Michael have an agreement to continue playing together until january next year.
