Heather Nielsen - formerly Heather M. Ward Heather Nielsen won 2 All England titles: In 1958 (under her maiden name Heather M. Ward) she won Ladies' Doubles with Margaret Varner USA. They beated Iris Rogers/June Timperley - formerly White, England. In 1959 Heather M. Ward won Ladies' Singles by beating Judy Devlin - later Hashman, USA. In 1970 Heather Nielsen was runner-up in Ladies' Singles - beaten by Etsuko Takenake, Japan. In 1955, at 16.3, was chosen the youngest international ever........Supple in action but "chunky" by name she allied power with touch, and bonded them with speed......Pleasant, utterly unassuming, she was epitomised in the Far East as 'the tremendous sporting Mrs. Nielsen'.
