The world of the Physio...!
Being a Physio at a tournament like this means being busy!
Just ask Rob...!
The number of ice-cubes produced during this event are countless...!
The cubes are put in plastic bags and stored in the fridge in Rob's 'office'!
Who comes to Rob?
Players who hasn't been playing for a long, long time and only practised approximately one week prior to this tournament!
"I've had most of the Belgian team in here - and this was only on the first two sessions (Wednesday night and Thursday morning!). Usually they've strained muscles in their lower back! But also in their ankles or their knees..." he told EBU press officer Dille Andersen.
"In the Netherlands and in Belgium the indoor badminton courts are not accessible in the summer! Most of them are Government owned and it's not possible to get somebody there in the summertime. That's why a lot of the players can't practise for 2-3 months and when they finally start playing again they are not in the proper shape...!
Only the top players with their own practise court can continue their training all year around.
You can rest and take 2-3 weeks of once in a while but not longer if you are a top player and want to stay fit...!"
