Her er en lille hilsen fra USAs pręsident Bill Clinton:
"It gives me great pleasure to join all americans in welcoming the
athletes, officials, and spectators who have traveled to Atlanta,
Georgia, for the Games og the Xth Paralymoiad.
As the premier competition for elite athletes with physical
disabilities, the Paralymoic Games will bring together approximately
3.500 competitors, representing more than 127 nations, to participate in
the world's largest celebration of people with disabilities. With skill
and courage, these world-class athletes will put themselves to the test,
exemplifying both individual accomplishment and the universal guest for
excellence, equality, and dignity.
As Honorary Chair of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, I ask you to
join me in support of this powerful demonstration af ability of people
with disabilities to compete at the highest levels of athletic
achievement and in celebrating the triumph of the human spirit".
